  • Castelsarrasin
  • Montauban
  • Moissac
  • Auvillar
  • Valence d'Agen
  • Sauveterre-St-Denis
  • Agen
  • Buzet-sur-baïse
  • Damazan
  • Le Mas d'Agenais

Castelsarrasin
A city of many open gardens, such as that of Park Clairefont, Castelsarrasin is the perfect place to unwind and discover many historical charms. Visit the 12th century church of St. Saviour to admire its exquisite organ and furnishings and explore the open-air market set in the heart of the city or at Freedom Square to shop for local delicacies and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Montauban
A day is not enough to drink in all the splendours of Montauban. The city is bursting with spectacular sights and medieval landmarks, from the gorgeous Place Nationale and Ingres Museum to the historic Pont Vieux and Montauban Cathedral.  Venture into the Old Town to marvel at neoclassical buildings made of arches and red bricks and discover some of the city’s parks and gardens, where you can spread out a picnic on the grass. There is also a huge golf course located just 5 minutes away from downtown Montauban. Before leaving, don’t forget to grab samples of the city’s popular delicacies: Boulet de Montauban (hazelnuts covered in chocolate), foie gras, Cabécou Autan (creamy goat’s cheese), and Mountalbane, a local pastry.

Moissac
Moissac is France’s jewel of Romanesque art. When you reach this fabulous city, visit the 7th century Saint-Pierre de Moissac Abbey, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, to see its incredible cloister and the symbolic sculptures guarding the church’s entrance. The city is also famous for its AOC Chasselas grapes so don’t miss the opportunity taste a bunch of this delicious fruit.

Auvillar
Your next stop is in the beautiful French village of Auvillar, which is perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Garonne River. Surrounded by fortified walls, the village features a surplus of medieval structures that pulls you back to the ancient times, including the 17th century clocktower, the cobbled triangular square of Place de la Halle, and the 12th century Church of Saint-Peter.

Valence d'Agen
Valence d'Agen is an adorable market town with a long avenue adorned with dazzling fountains. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the trees lined up on the street and don’t forget to visit the old public wash houses that are quite unique being round in shape rather than square.

Sauveterre-St-Denis
Moor at St-Jean-de-Thurac and cross the bridge to the wonderful village of Sauveterre-St-Denis for an indulging chocolate treat. Meet the artisanal chocolatier Philippe Jarasson in his store, L'Attrape- Rêves, and sample his luscious creations.

Agen
As a city rich in vibrant history, Agen is a must in your itinerary. Explore the most important landmarks of the city: the Agen Cathedral, an UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Tower of Notre Dame du Chaplet; Fine Arts Museum, which houses five Goya paintings and a collection of old ceramics; and the beautiful Art Nouveau House, which was built in 1901. Don’t forget to pick up some food at the covered market and taste the popular Pruneau d'Agen. You may also visit Walibi Aquitaine amusement park to treat the whole family with fun attractions and thrilling rides.

Buzet-sur-baïse
Have your fill of the ‘good stuff’ when you reach Buzet. The pretty town is famous for its delicious wines and it is impossible to stay there without tasting a glass or two. Visit the house of the wine growers and purchase a bottle for the boat.

Damazan
Stop by Damazan to dine in a lovely restaurant and wander around the central square to admire colourful medieval houses and the town hall with its 14th century staircase. A visit to Esplanade des Promenades is also recommended as it is a wonderful place where old men usually play petanque in the shade of cedars.

Le Mas d'Agenais
Possessing more than 2000 years of history, Le Mas d'Agenais is no doubt one of the oldest villages in Aquitaine. It is home to various remnants of the Gallo-Roman period and medieval wonders, including a votive stele with Latin inscription, the Venus of Mas statue, an old wash basin, and the ruins of a destroyed castle. Exploring this amazing town is the perfect way to finish your unforgettable cruising experience!
