The Canal du Midi area is rich in history. During your cruise, you will observe many little and typical villages that we encourage you to discover.

The canal is known for its beautiful and maintained canal banks. At any time, take your bike and ride around to see pretty landscapes.

Arrive in Homps and take a tour of the local vineyards, sample quality wines, and let the kids enjoy all kinds of watersports at Lac de Jouarres.

Discover Puicheric, a medieval village with a lovely church and  a major hub for watersports – you can hire canaoes or kayaks on the adjacent River Aude.

Touch down La Redorte, a pretty and leafy town built around a grand Chateau which has been transformed into a luxury hotel with an excellent restaurant.

Enjoy the scenery at Marseillette, famous for growing rice and for its magnificent clock tower at the centre.

Visit the wonderful cooking school in Millepetit and learn how to create classic French cuisine with a modern twist!

In Trèbes, try some excellent local produce including wine, olives, jams and confits, then experience the charming landscapes of Cavayère Lake.

See the breathtaking Carcassonne, a UNESCO-listed, fortified citadel with 3km of ramparts, a castle, cathedral and shops and restaurants.

In Villesèquelande, don't forget to see the pretty church and the clock Sully Elm regarded as one of the oldest elms still alive in France.

Spend some time in Bram, a pretty village built on a circular plan with a 13th century church at the heart. The Archaeology Museum is also a must see.

Stop in Villepinte to replenish your provisions. Upstream of Villepinte Lock, look out for the Mézéran Aqueduct.

Explore Pexiora with a relaxing 2km walk or cycle from the canal, then buy some delicacies from the bakery and the small grocery store.

Enter Castelnaudary, the capital of the famous dish Cassoulet.  Don't forget to take a stroll towards the Cugarel windmill for great views across the Black Mountains.
