A comfortable 8-passenger minivan then takes you to a Provençal vineyard to learn all about the process of wine making.

The trip continues to the lovely village of Lourmarin, home to vineyards, olive groves, almond trees, and a 15th century castle standing proud on a hill. Enjoy a delicious lunch in one of its restaurants and revel in a relaxing, Provençal ambience.

After lunch, cross over the mountain for a sightseeing of the Luberon Valley and its Medieval hilltop villages. Itinerary

Aix-en-Provence Provençal Market
At 9:00 AM, meet your guide at the tourist office in Aix-en-Provence. Delight in an hour and a half walking visit of the city historical centre, following Cezanne’s footsteps, and of the vibrant “Grand Marché”. Market days are a way of life in Provence. Originating in the 12th century, farmers and craftsmen would come to nearest market town to sell their wares, or engage in bartering agreements. Not much has changed since those days. The market is still the place to come for locally grown produce of all shapes & sizes, and for clothes, home textiles and decor.

While seasonal breezes will fill the markets with scents of rosemary, thyme, spices, olives, cheese and many other aromas, you will discover also the rich history of Aix-en-Provence and its famous resident artist, Paul Cezanne, the father of modern art.

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
The guide will drive you on a short ride in a comfortable 8-passenger minivan with air conditioning through the magnificent landscape of an old ancient crater land on which the Côteaux d’Aix appellation vineyards have made their exquisite wine. As it will be near the time for “Aperitif”, a famous daily social ritual for French people, you will be charmed by the Provençal ambiance of the vineyard and its fabulous wines which are rose, red and white, in that order of importance. You will also enjoy learning all about the process of wine making in Provence.

Aix-en-Provence to Lourmarin
Enjoy your free lunch at Lourmarin, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Continuing on the Lubéron’s Wine road, you will discover the exquisite village, birth town of a famous French writer, Albert Camus. Lourmarin nestles in the middle of vineyards, olive groves and almond trees. As soon as you arrive, you will be stunned by its magnificent 15th century castle standing proud on a hill facing the walled village. You will enjoy Lourmarin’s typical Mediterranean architecture in its winding narrow streets, lovely old restored houses, and well shaded public squares where you can immerse yourself in the relaxing Provençal ambience. It is very animated due to its numerous cafe terraces, art galleries, boutiques and many restaurants where you can enjoy your Provençal lunch.

Lourmarin to Lubéron
After lunch, you will cross over the Great Lubéron’s mountain to enter one the most picturesque valley of Provence. The Lubéron region of Provence is France at its finest. You will be taken by its spectacular countryside of vineyards and blooming cherries in May or almond orchards in March, fascinating "perched" hill-top villages, outstanding natural produce and local products like the famous black truffles. You will discover the villages labelled the most beautiful villages of France like Bonnieux and Lacoste. And you will have a look at the oldest antique roman bridge of the valley, the Pont St. Julien.

Lubéron to Roussillon
Relish a free visit to Roussillon‘s village and the Ochre Trail. Roussillon is considered one of the most impressive villages in France. Situated in the heart and on top of one of the biggest ochre deposits in the world, the village of Roussillon is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries, surrounded with beautiful deep green coloured countryside spread with pine trees, oak trees, orchards and vineyards. It is like an artist's pallet, with the infinite combinations of colours. After the Ochre Trail walk, you will enjoy the beauty of the medieval narrow streets and the unforgettable panoramic view from the top of the village.

Roussillon to Gordes
Visit Gordes, known as one of the most beautiful villages in France, for sightseeing and photo opportunities. A “must” photo stop will add the perfect touch to your collection for the end of the day. The town is located east of Avignon and just west of Roussillon, and like the latter it was built on top of a hill. The village’s 2,000 inhabitants live in stone houses with terracotta roofs. Gordes also has an impressive castle. The beauty of Gordes on top of the cliff and its panoramic views of the surrounding landscape were not lost on the many famous artists who frequented the village, such as Marc Chagall.
