Itinerary

Your guide will pick you up at 09:30AM at Aix-en-Provence train station or at your hotel in Aix-en-Provence area. Welcome on board for this commented full day excursion through Luberon. You will have a global panorama of culture, gastronomy and natural heritage of this picturesque corner of Provence.

Guided tour and wine tasting at Château La Dorgonne
This exceptional Domaine is laid in the heart of a 70 hectares vineyard, surrounded by garrigue and green oak. Using the foothills of Luberon for its wine, this Domaine is a delightful place to discover the huge range of red, white and rosé wines, taking advantage of refreshing atmosphere. Actually, the Domaine is located 350 metres high, giving fresh air at night, and above all allowing slow maturation of the grapes. Soils are a majority of sands and lime, as well as clay and calcareous stone. Both climate and soils permit to give softness, vivacity and thickness to Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault grapes that are happily growing here.

After this delightful morning pause, you will take the scenic route of the Luberon National Park.

Luberon sightseeing
The massif mountain of Luberon offers typical Provence landscapes: garrigue, olive trees, lavender fields, vineyards and perched villages. This area is dominated by the Mourre Nègre, 1125 metres high. You will be seduced by the sinuous roads linking the perched villages to each other. A nice occasion to have a view at famous lovely places, attracting visitors from all over the world: Cucuron, Lourmarin, Bonnieux and above all Lacoste where Marquis de Sade was living. Luberon is an endless source of inspiration for painters or writers, or more recently film director.

Enjoy your lunch in Ménerbes (NOT INCLUDED - OPTIONAL 80.00 € per person)

Ménerbes belongs to the amazing medieval villages, so typical of the Luberon Mountains. Laid in a 17th and 18th century house, the restaurant offers the best of Provence terroir.

Exploring the Ochre Trail in Roussillon
It’s now time to go and see one of the most spectacular naturel site in France: the French Colorado!

Ochre has become the cornerstone of Roussillon's popularity. The village is today a highlight of Luberon, beguiling visitors thanks to its vivid colours. Sculpted by storms, this former ochre deposit today present enchanting scenery, which combines men and nature work. Cliffs, earth pillars, ochre-coloured sand hillocks, after being dug out by shovels and picks, are henceforth shaped by the winds and rain.

On a rural ambience, a gourmet break is now coming…

Guided tour and cheese tasting at Ferme du Brégalon (Bregalon Farm)
France is known worldwide for the cheese production. Visiting the Ferme du Brégalon, goat cheese making will not have any more secrets for you. The estate offers hectares of grazing where the herd of hundreds goats can eat and frolic. The owner have decided that, in order to protect and control the quality of the milk they use for cheese production, they need to grow themselves the forage plant they are feeding the herd with. You will be amazed by this lively and tasty world.

This is the end of this extraordinary and genuine discovery of Luberon area. Your guide will drive you back to Aix-en-Provence train station or to your hotel in Aix-en-Provence area.
