Itinerary

Aix-en-Provence to Luberon
At 9:00 AM, meet your guide at the tourist office of Aix-en-Provence. The 8-passenger minivan has air conditioning and comfortable seats. It takes barely 30 minutes to arrive in the Luberon’s Vineyard. A nice occasion for you to hear more about Provence’s culture of Lavender and Wine, while taking time to admire the magnificent landscape of the Great Luberon.

You will delight your eyes and your palate at Château la Dorgonne, a magnificent organic estate located in the southern foothills of the Luberon region, at 350 meters above sea level, boasts 70 hectares of uninterrupted land, in an exceptional lush green setting, surrounded by garrigue. Chateau La Dorgonne is an organic vineyard which produces very elegant AOP Luberon wines (part of the Valley of the Rhone Appellation). Their reds are full, bright, and powerful with finesse and delicateness. Their whites present an expression of refined aromatic expression. And their rosés are both fruity and vibrant. All their wine will not fail to delight your palate.

Luberon to Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
It’s Lavender season! This is the most magical season in Provence and a magnificent display of natural beauty and pleasure: the air is filled with a relaxing lavender aroma, the bees relentlessly making the amazing lavender-infused honey, the violet colours contrasting with the golden wheat fields and the deep azure blue sky. And the place to view lavender fields in their full glory is definitely the Haute Provence region’s famed, Plateau de Valensole. Each year, starting from mid to late June through mid-July, this plateau of 800 meters in altitude pops to brilliant life with unbelievable landscape. Countless photo opportunities are to be had of the natural beauty of summer in Provence.

Enjoy lunch and free time in Moustiers-Ste-Marie, an old medieval village sitting at the base of a high rocky cliff with stunning view. A mountain stream runs through the village with waterfalls running down a deep gorge and provides a refreshing and picturesque scenery in the summer. You will enjoy the many faïence pottery shops and a faience museum. Moustiers has a rich history in ceramic craftsmanship and the faïence is renowned throughout Europe for its fine decoration since the 17th century. The village has narrow medieval streets and vaulted passages, a centre plaza around the church. There are many opportunities for shopping, with terrace ‘cafés’ to relax and a fair number of restaurants for you to enjoy the perfect Provençal meal.

Visit the renowned Occitane of Provence. L’Occitane is an international brand of natural cosmetics born in Provence. You will enjoy a visit of the factory, museum or boutique. Their museum will tell you of the story of this one man who started his grand adventure in the world of natural cosmetics by purchasing an old rugged distillery machine sitting in a field of an old farmer and how it became this large fair trade and ecologically conscious company. You will learn about the making of their products by visiting the factory and about the aromatic plants they display in their garden filled with exquisite smells and aromas.

Return to Aix-en-Provence
At 05.30pm, your guide will drop you off at the Tourist Office in Aix-en-Provence.
