Itinerary

Find out why Bordeaux is one of the greatest cities of France during this tour. Explore the magnificent building, hidden alleys and the famous vineyards of Saint-Emilion on this full-day tour.

For starters, you will be comfortably seated in our air-conditioned minibus on your way to the village of Saint Emilion located about twenty kilometers from Bordeaux. Our driver-guide will offer you a walking tour of this picturesque village which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999 as a world-first cultural landscape. Begin your tour by visiting the monolithic church and its magnificent cloister. Stroll through the paved and hilly streets that highlight Saint-Emilion's special charm. You will be captivated by the city's natural character and the richness of its historical and architectural heritage.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for this hour-long walk. When you're done, you will take the minibus to meet an organic wine producer local to Saint-Emilion. You will visit a domain of Saint Emilion Grand Cru, historically recognized since 1925. You will see first-hand the daily life of a passionate winegrower who will give you a tour his estate for about an hour. After looking out on the vineyards at the entrance of the estate, you will enter two separate buildings. In the first, you will see how the tanks are installed, and your host will let you in on the secrets of winemaking. The second building houses barrels of wine ready for tasting. You can then discover the richness of this tasty wine during a delicious tasting.

After discovering Saint Emilion, you will return to Bordeaux by minibus. After 45 minutes, Hervé will invite you to lunch at one of the many restaurants located in the city center. You will have about an hour and a half of free time to eat and stroll a little in the streets.

You will be asked to arrive at the front of the Bordeaux Tourist Office at 2:30 PM. You will find our guide who will prepare to take you through the city for a guided walking tour lasting nearly 2 hours. Here, you will dive into the unique atmosphere that makes Bordeaux so special. Depending on the streets that you take, you will encounter the frenetic energy of pedestrian walkways or squares, and the calm of more remote places.

As you walk, our guide Hervé will show you the city's key places. You will cross the Place de la Bourse where you will find the surprising water mirror whose magic will inspire young and old. You will arrive on the huge Quinconces square offering a superb view of the Garonne river. Take the Tourny alleyways lined with trees whose chic atmosphere contrasts with the hustle and bustle of the city center.  You will reach Pey Berland Square, where the Town Hall and Saint André Cathedral are located. Walk along the lively main street, rue Sainte Catherine. You will be able to see the magnificent Saint Pierre church located in one of the old districts of Bordeaux. Finally, you can't miss one of Bordeaux's most iconic monuments, the majestic Big Bell which was formerly the Belfry of the Town Hall dating from the 15th century. 1 place de la bourse.

This guided tour will end around 4:30 PM.

Your guide let you continue your discovery of Bordeaux in complete freedom. You can then continue your visit of Bordeaux with a stroll along the quays where you will find a more peaceful atmosphere. You can also go to the Chartrons district, which is a very trendy place today. Its buildings show a cultural diversity that ranges from luxury shops to the Museum of Contemporary Art. A few steps away, you can spend your time visiting the City of Wine, easily accessible from the city center by tram.
