A fairly challenging start to this tour, with some hilly terrain up to the viewpoint of Les Cingles de Tremolat. A panoramic itinerary, you will pass through St Sauveur and the surrounding forests.

Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 3, Ride to Les Eyzies (17 mi or 28 km)
You will start the morning with an orienteering course to challenge your skills and then later you can take off on a bicycle ride to the capital of pre-history. On the ride you'll first stop at Limeuil, one of the most beautiful village of France. Continue to Le Bugue and then on to Les Eyzies! Take your time to visit this very charming town and its sites/museums including the Font de Gaume.

Font de Gaume is a cave housing a collection of prehistoric polychrome cave paintings. Prehistoric people living in the Dordogne Valley first settled in the Font de Gaume around 25,000 BC. The cave was forgotten until the 19th century. The paintings discovered date back from 17000 BC, during the Magdalenien period. The cave's most famous painting, a frieze of five bison was discovered accidentally in 1966 while scientists were cleaning the cave.

Night in a charming hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4, Canoeing around Les Eyzies (11 mi or 17 km)
There is much to do and see in Les Eyzies, but we give you an option for a canoe trip today that should still leave time to visit the city. You will start the canoe trip in St Leon de Vezere (accessible by bus from Les Eyzies), near Montignac. Here you can embark on a 4 hour canoe trip back down to Les Eyzies. Back to Les Eyzies, overnight at the same hotel.

Dinner on your own. Breakfast included.

Day 5, Visit Sarlat (25 mi or 17 km)
A nice ride that takes you to an adventure park where you can do some ropes courses in the tree tops and zip lines, a great time that you can do at your own pace. Local French speaking employees of the park will help you with your harness and equipment. After the adventure park, continue to Sarlat. This town with its cobbled streets, old roofs, and warm stone walls boasts an exceptional heritage. Sarlat is a medieval town built around a large Benedictine abbey of the Carolingian period.

The medieval Sarlat Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Sacerdos. Sarlat is one of the most representative towns of the 14th century. Overnight in a lovely hotel in the center of the old town in Sarlat. Dinner on your own in Sarlat. Breakfast included.

Day 6, From Sarlat to Beynac (Option 1: 18 mi or 29 km or Option 2: 7 mi or 12 km)
