Guided tour of Dijon and of its Christmas market. Market is from December 2 to 30.

In Roman times Dijon was a crossroads between northern Europe and the Mediterranean. In the 14th century it was here that the Valois Dukes of Burgundy founded one of the most brilliant courts in Europe. Dijon then became the seat of the order of the Golden Fleece.

From the Renaissance onwards, the townhouses of the Nobles of the Robe reshaped this “city of a hundred towers”. Dijon's pedestrian streets wind between medieval houses, churches and Renaissance townhouses. The Place de la Libération, created by Hardouin-Mansart, is one of the loveliest squares in France.

Through this walk, you will discover the Burgundy Christmas spirit with its beautiful decorations and market. You could enjoy the traditional “vin chaud” (hot wine with spices and find original Christmas gifts from local craftsmen.

Lunch at leisure according to your guide's recommendation.

In the afternoon, tour and wine tasting at a local winery in Côte de Nuits. For five generations, the Domaine Rion has been a family story. The estaste was founded in 1896 by Pierre Rion ex-sharecropper of the Château de la Berchère who had acquired the Château's wines. Today, the family owned prestigious vineyards located in villages of the Côte de Nuits such as Vosne-Romané, Nuits-Saint-Georges or Vougeot.
