Explore the stunning and diverse region of Brittany during this exhilarating, 5-day cycling tour from Saint Malo to Mont Saint-Michel. Start your holiday with a tour of Saint-Malo, the historic walled city of the region. Then, cycle along the scenic, jagged coastline of Emerald Coast then head to Cancale, a picturesque fishing village known for its oysters. On Day 3 & 4, discover the breathtaking Mont Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and of the most popular landmarks of France.

Itinerary

Day 1, Arrive in Brittany
Arrive in Saint Malo, the town is easily accessible from Paris by TGV. You will stay in a beautiful hotel in the center of Saint Malo. Orientation at 6pm and dinner on your own. To visit in Saint Malo: the walled city, the chateau of Saint-Malo with the Solidor Tower of Saint-Servan.

Day 2, From Saint Malo to Cancale (17 mi or 27 km)
For your first riding day, you will cycle along the Emerald Coast up to La Pointe du Grouin, where you will have a stunning view over the ocean. On a clear day, you can even see the outline of the Mont Saint Michel! Your destination today is Cancale, a picturesque fishing village famous for its oysters. History says that Louis XIV had his oysters brought to Versailles from Cancale. Centuries later, the oysters farming is still a major activity in the port and there are oyster beds covering about 7.3 square kilometres, you can easily see them from the pier.

Day 3, From Cancale to Mont Saint Michel (31 mi or 50 km)
Today, you will cycle to the Mont Saint Michel. Before reaching the Mont, you will stop at the charming town Saint Benoit des Ondes, a fishing village which name comes from a benedict priory linked to the Saint Benoit du Blanc Essay monastery. Dinner on your own.

Day 4, Loop Ride in the Bay of Mont Saint Michel (22 mi or 35 km)
You have two options today: you can either take the whole day off to visit the Mont Saint Michel, or you can go cycle in the bay. If you choose to ride, today's itinerary will take you around the Mont Saint Michel Bay. Return to the same hotel.

Day 5, Departure Day
After breakfast, you can catch a bus that will bring you back to Rennes, from where you can catch a TGV to Paris. You have a bus leaving at 9:30 am allowing you to catch the 11:05 am train to Paris.
