Terms & Conditions

Prices shown in Euros and will be converted in Australian Dollar (AUD) at time of payment using a daily ROE. An initial deposit of 20% of the total cruise fare for cabin or charters is payable at the time of booking. The balance must be paid within 90 days for cabin and 120 days for charter as per our terms and conditions and as specified in our confirmation invoice, which will be despatched when the booking form has been processed. Cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

Itinerary 

Tain l'Hermitage to Avignon

Day 1, Sunday
Board at Tain l'Hermitage or Tournon and meet your crew for a Champagne reception. Enjoy a wine-tasting at Mr Ferraton's winery only steps away. Later, dine on superb cuisine accompanied by France's finest wines.

Day 2, Monday
Cruise to Viviers while watching the beautiful Rhône Valley glide by. Enjoy a guided walk of this charming medieval town in the mid-afternoon. Return to the barge and play the traditional Provençal game pétanque.

Day 3, Tuesday
Enjoy a scenic drive to Nyons, a Provençal village with a lavender distillery and 18th-century olive mill. Have lunch at pretty Grignan. Visit a truffle farm to learn about and taste this world-renowned delicacy.

Then cruise south to Saint-Etienne-des-Sorts. Pass through the Bollène lock, with its dramatic 23-metre drop.

Day 4, Wednesday
Visit the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape for a wine tasting. Lunch on board as you cruise to Avignon, past the famous bridge, Pont Saint-Bénezet. Moor opposite the gates to city then visit the spectacular Roman Pont du Gard aqueduct.

Day 5, Thursday
Tour Avignon, which was home to the Popes of Avignon in the 1300s. Enjoy a walk around the walled city, as well as the Palace of the Popes. Take time to peruse the shops or sample French café culture.

Lunch on Belmond Napoléon as you cruise to Arles. Explore the village of Les Baux before dining on board.

Day 6, Friday
Tour Arles, home of Van Gogh from 1888 to 1889. Enjoy lunch as you cruise back to Avignon. Visit Saint-Rémy, birthplace of Nostradamus and also home to Van Gogh. On the way back, enjoy an olive-oil tasting in an 18th-century Provencal bastide. In the evening, have a magnificent farewell gala dinner.

Day 7, Saturday
Have breakfast before the crew bids you farewell and you disembark.


Tain l'Hermitage to Chalon-sur-Saône

Day 1, Sunday
Board Belmond Napoleon and meet your crew for a champagne reception. Enjoy a wine tasting at Chez Ferraton’s winery nearby. Come evening, dine on regional specialities complemented by fine wines.

Day 2, Monday
Cruise the Rhône Valley. The Côtes Rôties and the Côtes du Rhône vineyards stretch out on either side, almost touching the river. Stop off and visit ancient Vienne, with its spectacular Roman amphitheatre, temple and aqueduct. Tonight, dinner is served on board.

Day 3, Tuesday
Cruise to Lyon and savour lunch in the city centre. Tour France's second city, renowned for its culture and gastronomy. The ornate Basilica of Nôtre-Dame de Fourvière dominates the skyline. Take the oportunity to browse the chic boutiques or relax in a pavement café. After dinner walk to Lyon’s old town and enjoy a drink in a traditional Lyonnais bar.

Day 4, Wednesday
This morning, cruise to Mâcon, a thriving market town bordering the Mâconnais wine region. Here you visit the Abbey of Cluny, which was for centuries recognised as the largest church in the world.

Day 5, Thursday

Day 6, Friday
Cruise to the market town of Chalon-sur-Saône with its grand square. After a leisurely lunch, continue to Beaune, capital of the wine region of Burgundy. Tour the famous 15th-century Hôtel-Dieu, or Hospices de Beaune. Enjoy a wine tasting in the magnificent Joseph Drouhin cellar and Wander around Beaune‘s ancient ramparts, plus its maze of medieval streets. Back on board a wonderful farewell gala dinner awaits.

Day 7, Saturday
Sit down to a final breakfast on board before the crew bids you farewell and you disembark.


Avignon to Lyon

Day 1, Sunday
Board the barge in Avignon for your cruise through the Rhône Valley. Meet your crew over a champagne reception and you begin sailing towards Roquemaure. In the evening, savour your first dinner on board.

Day 2, Monday
Begin the day with a short drive to Avignon for a walking tour of the city, including the Palace of the Popes. Return to the barge for lunch and continue your cruise to Viviers, a charming medieval town. Take the opportunity to walk to the top of the hill and admire the views of the cathedral and down the Rhône Valley.

Day 3, Tuesday
Take a drive through the countryside to Grignan, visiting the town’s medieval chateau. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant in the village, before touring a local truffle farm where you will be spoilt with a unique tasting session. Back on board, relax and take in the scenery as you continue on to La Voulte.

Day 4, Wednesday
This morning’s cruise takes you to Tain l'Hermitage, mooring beneath the famous sloping hills teaming with vines. After lunch visit a local winery, sampling the delightful vintages of the northern Rhône Valley. Visit the celebrated Valrhona chocolate shop, and explore the towns of Tain and Tournon at your leisure.

Day 5, Thursday
Admire the scenery as your cruise continues through the Vallee Du Rhone. Take a walking tour of Vienne, a riverside town brimming with Roman history. Return to Condrieu for a tasting of the wines produced there.

Day 6, Friday
A final cruise brings us to our end destination of Lyon. After lunch, take a walking tour of the city to discover the hidden ‘traboules’, the old town and the various roman remains. Back on board, the chef is busy preparing a feast for your farewell dinner.

Day 7, Saturday
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before bidding farewell to the crew and continuing with your onward travel arrangements.
