Terms & Conditions

Prices shown in Euros and will be converted in Australian Dollar (AUD) at time of payment using a daily ROE. An initial deposit of 20% of the total cruise fare for charters is payable at the time of booking. The balance must be paid within 90 days as per our terms and conditions and as specified in our confirmation invoice, which will be despatched when the booking form has been processed. Cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

Itinerary 

Arzviller to Strasbourg

Day 1, Sunday
We’ll meet you at your designated rendezvous point and escort you to the barge at its mooring in Arzviller. Celebrate your arrival on board at a sparkling champagne reception, where you have the chance to meet your captain and crew. In the evening, sit down to a delicious four-course dinner prepared by your private chef.

Day 2, Monday
Following breakfast, marvel as you are carried in sedate style over the Vosges Mountains courtesy of the Arzviller Boat Lift, an architectural wonder enabling the barge to bypass 17 locks. Relax on board as you cruise along the canal to the pretty village of Lutzelbourg. After lunch, take a short drive to the village of Sarrebourg, home to the Chapelle des Cordeliers, where you can admire stunning stained-glassed windows by Marc Chagall and stroll through the intriguing gardens. On the way back to the barge, stop by a local glass artist’s workshop, admire the intricate creations and participate in a private glass-blowing demonstration. If you’re feeling energetic, hike up to Château Lutzelbourg, a medieval ruin high above the town of Ottrott, and enjoy panoramas of the mountains and the canal below. Tonight, you dine on board.

Day 3, Tuesday
This morning, we cruise to the charming town of Saverne, ancestral home of the Counts of Rohan. Following lunch, alight from the boat to visit the 18th-century Rohan Castle and explore the town’s winding streets lined with half-timbered houses and colourful façades. Later, visit the nearby Haut Barr Castle, perched on top of the hillside like an eagle’s nest overlooking the Alsatian plains. Return to the barge for pre-dinner drinks overlooking picturesque Rohan Castle.

Day 4, Wednesday
In the morning, your guide escorts you on a scenic drive to the famous vineyards of Alsace. Enjoy select wine tastings around the pretty village of Marlenheim and visit Domaine Frédéric Mochel, a family domaine dating from the 1600s in the inviting hamlet of Traenheim. Return to the barge for lunch and enjoy a leisurely afternoon on board as we cruise to the village of Dettwiller.

Day 5, Thursday
Alight from the barge after breakfast and take a short drive to the mountaintop village of La Petite Pierre. Here you enjoy a fabulous Michelin-starred lunch at Villa René Lalique, former home of the legendary glassmaker and now a lavish hotel and restaurant. Afterwards admire the René Lalique Collection, comprising over 500 examples of art nouveau and art deco crystal creations. Return to the barge for an afternoon cruise to the village of Hochfelden. Beer lovers will appreciate a tour of the Meteor Brewery, an independent, family-owned brewery established in 1640. Enjoy a tasting of its 12 boutique beers, all produced on site.

Day 6, Friday
This morning, we cruise to Strasbourg, the stunning capital of the Alsace region. Following lunch, enjoy a walking tour of the beautifully preserved city. Visit the splendid cathedral, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the 19th-century Botanical Garden. Take time to explore the winding streets and maze of canals before returning to the barge, where your chef has been busy preparing a sumptuous farewell dinner.

After breakfast, we say goodbye as you disembark for your onward travel arrangements. We look forward to seeing you again soon.



Strasbourg to Arzviller

Visit the splendid cathedral, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the quaint merchants’ quarter of La Petite France. Wander round the shops and admire all the little streets lined with colourful Alsatian houses. Dinner is on board tonight.

Day 3, Tuesday
In the morning, your guide takes you on a scenic drive to the Meteor Brewery, an independent, family-owned brewery established in 1640. Enjoy a tasting of its 12 boutique beers, all produced on site. Later, visit the nearby Haut Barr Castle, perched on top of the hillside like an eagle’s nest overlooking the Alsatian plains. Over your tasty lunch, cruise to the village of Lutzelbourg.

Day 6, Friday
If you’re feeling energetic this morning, hike up to Château Lutzelbourg, a medieval ruin high above the town of Ottrott, and enjoy panoramas of the mountains and the canal below. Then return to the barge for your final cruise, taking in the picturesque alpine scenery. Just before lunch, marvel as you are carried in sedate style over the Vosges Mountains courtesy of the Arzviller Boat Lift, an architectural wonder enabling the barge to bypass 17 locks. Experience your first locks and take the opportunity to stroll or cycle along the towpath. After lunch, accompany your guide on a scenic drive to the famous Alsace vineyards. Enjoy select wine tastings around the pretty village of Marlenheim and visit Domaine Frédéric Mochel, a family domaine dating from the 1600s in the inviting hamlet of Traenheim. Back on board we cruise towards Hochfelden, our mooring location for this evening. Dinner is served on board.

Day 3, Tuesday
This morning, the barge cruises to the beautiful town of Saverne, ancestral home of the counts of Rohan. After lunch, alight to visit 18th-century Rohan Castle and discover the town’s winding streets lined with half-timbered houses and colourful façades. Later, visit the nearby Haut Barr Castle, perched on top of the hillside like an eagle’s nest overlooking the Alsatian plains. Return to the boat for pre-dinner drinks and a farewell gala dinner overlooking spectacular Rohan Castle.
