Prices shown in Euros and will be converted in Australian Dollar (AUD) at time of payment using a daily ROE. An initial deposit of 20% of the total cruise fare for cabin or charters is payable at the time of booking. The balance must be paid within 90 days as per our terms and conditions and as specified in our confirmation invoice, which will be despatched when the booking form has been processed. Cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

Itinerary 

Chateau-Thierry to Chalons-en-Champagne

Day 1, Chateau-Thierry
The crew welcomes you aboard the barge at Chateau-Thierry. Your journey begins in sparkling style with a champagne tasting session. Meet your captain and crew as you settle in to your luxurious surrounds. Tonight, Chef serves a gourmet feast to celebrate your first evening on board.

Day 2, Courcelles
This morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and spend time relaxing on the deck as we glide past picturesque rural villages. Lunch is followed by a scenic drive to Belleau Wood. It was here during World War I that American troops halted the progression of the German Army. 2,288 American casualties were buried in Aisne-Marne nearby. Today, the cemetery is a peaceful space to reflect on lives lost. That evening, enjoy dinner on board.

Day 3, Hautvillers
Enjoy life at a gentle pace this morning as you sail alongside the stunning vineyards of Champagne. Step from the barge onto the towpath for a stroll or cycle, or sink into a deck-chair and soak-up the sun. After lunch, take a scenic drive to the abbey at Hautvillers. Here lies the tomb of Dom Pérignon overlooking breathtaking views of the vineyards. After, head to the house of Champagne J de Telmont. Their unique oenological workshop promises a merry introduction to the champagne making process. Tonight, we berth in Mareuil-le-Port, while Chef prepares a sumptuous dinner on board.

Day 4, Epernay
This morning, you’ll visit the jewel of the Champagne region, Epernay. Stroll along the Avenue de Champagne and admire the many elegant champagne houses. Founded in 1743, Moet & Chandon is one of the region’s oldest and finest. Step through the hallowed courtyard and enjoy an exclusive tasting session before you return to the barge for an indulgent lunch. This evening, savour a dinner of sublime French cuisine at the celebrated La Briquette restaurant.

Day 5, Reims
After breakfast, join your guide on a tour of the city or Reims. Famous for its royal connection, 34 of France’s sovereigns were crowned here. Explore the impressive gothic cathedral and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. You’ll have free-time to wander among the many boutiques, each brimming with artisanal delights. After lunch at a local bistro, return to the barge for a leisurely afternoon on board.

Day 6, Chalons-en-Champagne
Rise this morning for an indulgent breakfast followed by a visit to a local family-run champagne house. After lunch, set off to explore Chalons-en-Champagne at leisure. Uncover the town’s architectural heritage with a visit to Saint-Etienne Cathedral and the museum of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux Cloister, or browse the many boutiques and pavement cafes. Back on board, Chef prepares a farewell feast for your final evening on board.

Day 7, Chalons-en-Champagne
Awake to enjoy an indulgent breakfast. After, the crew bids you a fond farewell as you disembark for your onward travel arrangements.

Day 1, Chalons-en-Champagne
The crew welcomes you aboard at Chalons-en-Champagne. Your journey begins in sparkling style with a champagne tasting session. Meet your captain and crew as you settle in to your luxurious surrounds. Tonight, Chef serves a gourmet feast to celebrate your first evening on board.

Day 2, Chalons-en-Champagne
Rise this morning for a delicious breakfast. After lunch, set off to Chalons-en-Champagne with your guide. You’ll uncover the town’s architectural heritage with a visit to Saint-Etienne Cathedral and the museum of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux Cloister. Return to the barge to set sail along the canal.  Later, head to a family-run champagne house for a tasting. Dinner tonight is a gastronomic sensation freshly prepared by Chef.

Day 3, Reims
After breakfast, join your guide on a tour of the city or Reims. Famous for its royal connection, 34 of France’s sovereigns were crowned here. Explore the impressive gothic cathedral and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. You’ll have free-time to wander among the many boutiques before you stop for an exquisite lunch at a nearby restaurant. Return to the barge this afternoon for a relaxing cruise along the pretty Marne River.

Day 1, Couvrot
Join a champagne reception as you are welcomed aboard in Couvrot. Settle into your luxurious surrounds while you meet the captain and crew. Later, take a seat as Chef serves an exquisite gourmet dinner for your first night on board.

Day 2, Reims
Relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning as you glide along the canal. After lunch, head to Reims— the crowning place of 34 French sovereigns and an important centre for champagne production. Marvel at the impressive gothic cathedral and explore the Musée des Beaux-Arts. Later, spend some free-time in the city to explore the many boutiques. Return to the barge late afternoon for cocktails followed by a sumptuous dinner.

Day 3, La Mains De Massiges
The morning is yours to enjoy at leisure. Alight for a gentle stroll along the towpath, or cycle alongside the barge. After a delicious lunch at a local bistro, head to La Mains de Massiges with your guide. The trenches here were built in wavy lines to avoid gunfire during World War I. A nearby cemetery shelters the graves of fallen soldiers. After an emotive afternoon, return to the barge for dinner—a gastronomic sensation prepared by Chef.

Day 4, Chalons-en-Champagne
Today, the barge arrives in the pretty town of Chalons-en-Champagne. Set off to explore the gothic Saint-Etienne Cathedral and wander among the gardens of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux Cloister. Marvel at the remarkable statues guarding the cloister walls. After, return to the barge as you set sail for Mareuil-sur-Ay. A delectable lunch is served as you pass beautiful rural scenes along the river. Later, prepare for an evening of divine dining on board.

Day 5, Hautvillers
Sink into life at a gentle pace this morning as the barge drifts along the canal. After a delectable lunch on board, take a scenic drive to the abbey at Hautvillers. Here lies the tomb of Dom Perignon, presiding over a spectacular view of the vineyards below. Later, head to the house of Champagne J de Telmont to take part in their unique oenological workshop. Dinner will be at the celebrated restaurant, La Briquette.

Day 6, Epernay
Relax on board this morning as your journey continues.  After lunch, head to Epernay with your guide. Wander along the iconic Avenue de Champagne, before an exclusive tasting at the champagne house of Moet & Chandon. Return to the barge for a farewell gala dinner to celebrate your final evening on board.

Day 7, Epernay
Awake to enjoy an indulgent breakfast. After, the crew bids you a fond farewell as you disembark for your onward travel arrangements.
