Go to the top of Alpe d'Huez, touch the monument to Henri Desgranges at the summit of the Galibier, climb Les Deux Alpes, the Col de Lautaret, among others. If you are an experienced and passionate rider looking for the ultimate challenge, then come to experience the cols where cycling legends made their marks. Upon arrival to the charming village of Freney d'Oisans in the Alps you will get a detailed briefing about the cycling possibilities in the area, the best routes and organization tips to get the most out of this great cycling holiday. After the rides, you can relax at comfortable mountain hotels and enjoy hardy alpine dinners to fuel you for the next mountain challenge.

Itinerary

Day 1, Arrive in Freney d'Oisans
Travel by bus or private transfer from Grenoble to the hotel in Freney d'Oisans where the welcome meeting, orientation and bike setup will take place. Stay in a charming 3* hotel in Freney d'Oisans. Gourmet dinner included.

Accommodation: Hotel Cassini - 3 stars

Day 2, Alpe d'Huez - 68 mi (110 km)
The first climbs of the tour : Le Glandon and La Croix-de-Fer. It's a very long and irregular col. When you reach the crossroad with the Glandon, you can make a small detour of 1,5 km to reach the top of the Croix the Fer and to enjoy the view. This pass has been included in the Tour de France 14 times, the first time in 1947, and most recently in 2006. Total ascent 3621 m. Dinner and breakfast included..

Day 3, Loop ride to Alpe d'Huez - 30 mi (49 km) or 43 mi (69 km)
Alpe d'Huez is a vertical climb of 1.120m (3.733 feet), 14 km (8.75 miles) long, gradients between 7.7 and 12% and its 21 switchbacks are famous for cracking or elevating cycling legends in the history of the Tour de France. The ride is 49 km but you have the option to climb les deux alpes as well. Total distance would 69 km (37 mi). Stay in the same hotel in Freney d'Oisans from the previous day. Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4, Loopride to Col du Galibier
Two tough by rewarding climbs in the Alps: the Col du Lautaret and the Col du Galibier.You will climb the Col du Lautaret (40 kms - 25 miles) from the village of Le Bourg d'Oisans, with a vertical climb of 1.400m (4.666 feet) and an average gradient of 3.8 % (max 9%). And if that was not enough, you will then tackle the climb to the Galibier ( 8.5 km -5.3 miles) with a vertical climb of 585m (1.950 feet) and an average gradient of 6.9 % (12% max). Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 5, Transfer to Bedoin
Departure from the Alps after breakfast with a 10am transfer to the village of Bedoin at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Allow 4 hours travel time. In Bedoin, you have free time to explore the village or relax for the rides ahead. You will stay in a charming 3 star hotel with dinner and morning breakfast included.

Day 6, Mont Ventoux - 40 mi (64 km) or 45 mi (73 im) or 55 mi (89 km)
Conquer Mont Ventoux. This itinerary begins with a warm-up ride between the vineyards of Bédoin, followed by the challenging climb and descent of Mont Ventoux. Climbing the Mon Ventoux is an experience that will stay with you for a long time. Total Ascent : 2695 m. Stay in the same hotel in Bedoin from the previous day. Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 7, Loop to Beaume de Venise - 55 mi (89 km)
A beautiful tour warm-up ride through the vineyards of Ventoux and Rhône valley. You will pass through the wine villages of Beaumes-de-Venise, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and the more famous Rhône wine villages in Upper-Vaucluse before returning to Bedoin. Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 8, Departure Day
Departure after breakfast; transfer to Avignon included. Breakfast included.
