Day 1, Transfer from Paris to Champagne
Transfer in a comfortable minibus from Paris to Reims at 10:00 am. Arrival at 12:00 noon in Reims and meet your English-speaking guide. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Reims - drinks included.

Explore Reims with a guided tour of the town. Stroll through the streets of Reims: many sites, monuments and museums show the history of Reims, from the Gallo-Roman to the modern era, going through the Art Deco period.

Check-in at 4-star, Hotel de la Paix in Reims for 4 nights or similar.

Enjoy dinner at your hotel - drinks included.

Day 2,  Champagne
After breakfast, meet your guide and pick up at your hotel at 9:30 am.

Enjoy a guided tour of Veuve Clicquot: Tour and Champagne tasting. House founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and his widow Barbe Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin. 1972: creation of the Grande Dame, the cuvée prestige of the Company.

Guided tour of Reims Cathedral. Listed in the Unesco World Heritage, with more than 2 300 statues among which the famous Smiling Angel, its impressive stained glass windows, 13th century Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral is one of Europe's most important Gothic structures. King Clovis was baptized there around 498, starting a long lasting tradition: except two, all of the Kings of France were crowned here.

Lunch at leisure in Reims. 

After your lunch, your guide will drive you to the Montagne of Reims' Vineyard for a guided tour. Followed by a tour and Champagne tasting at a family estate. The house was founded in the late 19th century, in Epernay. It was later that the son of the family decided to move in a Belle Epoque residence in Chigny Les Roses with a very precise aim: to develop their Champagne brand whilst continuing to supply wines unimpeachable quality. The house belongs nowadays to a group, but is still known as a family business. The family wants to perpetuate the founder’s style while taking advantage of the latest technological innovation to master even more the quality of their Champagnes. It is a good balance between Tradition and Modernity that you are about to experience.

Drop off at your hotel  at around 5:30 p.m. with a night at leisure in Reims. Dinner is at leisure.

Day 3, Champagne
After breakfast, meet your guide and pick up at your hotel at 9:30 am. Your guide drives you along the Scenic Route du Champagne which meanders among the vineyards and the picturesque villages. The countryside is enamelled with beautiful Grand Cru villages like Ay, Hautvillers, Bouzy, Le Mesnil, Vernezay, etc. all nested in an ocean of vines.

Sightseeing along the famous Avenue de Champagne: Epernay is internationally known as the "Capital of Champagne". Epernay’s stunning main street appears like an exhibition of opulent mansions housing the most illustrious Maisons de Champagne: Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier, etc. Not to mention the 100km of tunnels under the pavement!

Enjoy a traditional tour and Champagne Tasting at Möet & Chandon: Founded in 1743 by Claude Möet it becomes within 40 year the first international brand in the world. Its history is linked to some famous figures such as The Marquise de Pompadour and Napoleon 1st. This Champagne is also sold to many important historical events among which King Edwards VII’s coronation, Cannes Film Festival, the 120th anniversary of the Liberty Statue, etc…It is probably nowadays the most famous Champagne brand around the world! You will end your visit with a glass of Moët Imperial.

Followed by a tour and Champagne tasting lunch at a local domain: The House was created in 1875 in the little village of Damery located in the Marne’s Valley. Laure and David are proud to be today the Fifth generation of wine makers. They are focus on the respect of both traditions and ancestral working methods. Their champagne Plaisir d’Antan is for instance a good example of this philosophy: Made of a 100 percent Chardonnay, this Cuvée is aged in oak casks as it was before the creation of stainless steel vats giving a unique taste to the Champagne. They work as independant wine makers with 12 hectares of vineyards and produce 80,000 bottles.

At around 3:00 p.m., drop off at your hotel, to explore Reims at leisure. Dinner at leisure.

Day 4, Champagne
After breakfast, you will have free time to wander in Reims, and explore the narrow streets, shops and charming cafés.

Lunch is at leisure.

At 2:00pm your guide will pick you up at your hotel for a scenic tour of Verzenay Lighthouse. You are 25 metres up, above a sea of vines and the Champagne vineyards are as far as the eye can see.

And then in the distance there is a mill, villages, fields, a city and a cathedral. You are now at the top of the Lighthouse of Verzenay. A specially equipped panoramic viewpoint offers an exceptional 360° view.

Then, enjoy Champagne tasting at Henri Giraud. The house of Champagne Henri Giraud develops his wines with passion and know-how. Net wines, frank, straight and beautiful, with a maturing in oak barrel without exuberance, which preserves in the champagnes a rare balance, finesse and elegance.

At around 5:30 p.m., drop off at your hotel with a night at leisure in Reims. Dinner at leisure.

Day 5,  From Champagne to Burgundy
After breakfast, check-out at the hotel at 9:30am. Transfer from Reims to Beaune.  Lunch is at leisure in Beaune.

After lunch, enjoy a guided tour of Beaune. Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy’s famous vineyards, Pommard, Corton-Charlemagne, Romanée-Conti, Meursault, Santenay and Savigny-les-Beaune bring a twinkle to the eyes of wine lovers; Beaune is famous for the Hospice de Beaune (Hôtel-Dieu). Wine tasting, museums, leisure activities, Wine Auction and cellars. It is from the 15th century that Beaune experienced a real boom: economic, political and financial with the Hotel-Dieu, opened in 1452. Nicolas Rolin and his wife Guigone Salins gave a humanist dimension to the city since the hospices welcomed only the seriously ill and underprivileged people.

Day 6, Burgundy
After breakfast, meet your guide and pick up at your hotel at 9:30 a.m.

Experience a guided tour of the historic Hospices de Beaune (includes entrance). Hospices Civils de Beaune which have, since their foundation in 1443 by the Chancellor Nicolas Rolin, kept their doors open to everyone without interruption. This institution, unique in its historical and wine-producing, is closely connected with the economic life of the region.

Tour and wine tasting at a local domain in the Cote de Beaune. In 1848, the owner was only 24 when he founded his own wine house. The railway had just arrived in Meursault and Jean had the intuition that it would help make the fame of Burgundian wines. The name soon became synonymous to great white Burgundy wines. The cellars date back to the 15th century and are among the most prestigious in Burgundy.

Aftet the tasting, you will have time to enjoy some free time in Beaune.

At around 5:30 p.m., drop off at your hotel with a night at leisure in Dijon. Dinner at leisure.

Day 7, Burgundy
After breakfast at 9:30 a.m., meet your guide and pick up at your hotel. 

Tour and wine tasting at a local domain in Beaune. This Domaine is an important vineyard in the Côte de Beaune. The wine cellars and the winery are located in Beaune, in the Place Saint-Jacques. Its owner, Yvonnick, has extensive experience in the wine world, having worked for twenty years in sales of Burgundy wines on the French market. The area offers a wide range of different wines, classified under various names, including several 1st Crus and Grand Crus, whether white or red.

Tour and wine tasting lunch at a local domain in the Cote de Nuits. The family is established in Gevrey Chambertin since 1850. Since the beginning they managed to increase the size of their vineyard always looking for the best “Terroir”. Nowadays the family produces wine in 7 Grands Crus appellation as prestigious as Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Latricière Chambertin…as well as 4 famous 1er Cru of Gevrey Chambertin.

Guided tour of Clos Vougeot: Founded in 1098 by monks, the vineyard of Clos de Vougeot covers 50 hectares. The castle houses the brotherhood of the knights of the tastevin. Its wines are ones of the most famous in Burgundy with a Grand Crus: Le Clos Vougeot.

Drive along the Route des Grands Crus: Picturesque drive along the Côte de Nuits through the villages of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Vougeot. Discover the “Champs-Elysées” of Burgundy. We will take advantage of being in those prestigious vineyards to explain the Terroir and the different steps needed along the year to harvest the best Pinot Noir possible. L’expression du Terroir”.

Day 8, From Burgundy to Alsace
After breakfast, check-out from your hotel at 9:30 a.m. 

Guided tour of Dijon and tasting of  Fallot, the famous mustard. Enjoy Fallot mustard which has a very original taste.

Lunch is at your leisure in Dijon. After your lunch, transfer from Dijon to Colmar.

Check-in at the 4-star, Hotel Best Western Grand Hotel Bristol in Colmar for 4 nights or similar. Dinner at your hotel, drinks not included.

Day 9, Alsace
After breakfast, pick up at your hotel at 9:30 a.m.

Explore Strasbourg including its and Cathedral with your guide. With its monumental cathedral featuring carvings as delicate as any piece of lacework, Strasbourg is one of Europe’s most attractive cities. Thanks to the richness and sheer density of its heritage sites, the entire town centre has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage.

Lunch at leisure in Strasbourg. In the afternoon enjoy a tour and wine tasting of the famous Alsatian wines near Strasbourg.

Around 5:30 p.m., drop off at your hotel for a night at leisure in Colmar. Dinner at leisure.

Day 10, Alsace
After breakfast, meet your guide and pick up at your hotel at 9:30 a.m.

Guided tour of the beautiful Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg. Since its construction in the 12th century, the Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle has been a constant witness to both European conflicts and rivalry between lords, kings and emperors. A number of illustrious owners each left their mark on the castle’s history, and successive events even led to changes in the castle’s structure. The first records of a castle built by the Hohenstaufens date back to 1147. Staufenberg, as it was called at the time, sat high above the Alsace plain at an altitude of more than 700 meters. This rocky, promontory site was ideal for observing the main routes in the region, and provided a strategic fall-back point.

Lunch at your leisure in Ribeauvillé followed by a guided tour of this charming town.  At around 5:30 p.m., drop off at your hotel with a night at leisure in Colmar. Dinner at leisure.

Day 11, Alsace
After breakfast, meet your guide and pick up at your hotel at 9:30 a.m.

Explore Colmar with a guided tour. Colmar was founded in the 9th century. This was the location where Charles the Fat held a diet in 884. Colmar was granted the status of a free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire in 1226. During the Thirty Years' War, the city was taken by the armies of Sweden in 1632, who held it for two years. The city was conquered by France under Louis XIV in 1697.

In 1679 (Treaties of Nijmegen) Colmar was ceded to France. With the rest of Alsace, Colmar was annexed by the newly formed German Empire in 1871 as a result of the Franco-Prussian War. It returned to France after World War I, was annexed by Nazi Germany in 1940, and then reverted to French control after the battle of the "Colmar Pocket" in 1945.

Booking Conditions - 12-Day Small Group Escorted Tours

At French Travel Connection, we have partnered with our preferred tour operator to offer an exceptional range of intimate Escorted Group Tours.

Please note that price displayed is a price from. It includes an early booking discount of $300 per person. We reserve the right to amend the price and special offers of our tours at any time. Single supplement apply. No minimum passengers for guaranteed departure. Accommodation is subject to change according to their availability upon reservation. Should they not be available, we will offer you alternatives of same standard. 

Please refer to the detailed itinerary of the tour for what is included/not included in the price. Please note that the pick-up point and drop off point are defined by the Tour Operator and cannot be changed. All possible effort will be made to adhere to the published touring itinerary. Occasionally circumstances beyond our control will force changes, amendments or modifications to the itinerary and its inclusions such as accommodation, excursions, transfers, meals, drinks or other services. The Tour Operator or French Travel Connection cannot be held responsible for any omissions or modifications to the itinerary and its inclusions such as accommodation, excursions, transfers, meals, drinks or other services.

All reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking. Any verbal quote given is only an estimate of the price which will be effective only upon the issuing of a written advice on confirmation of the reservation. All bookings with French Travel Connection (“FTC”) are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by airlines, hoteliers, coach operators, and other service providers including, but not limited to, rail, car hire and restaurant operators whose services we utilise, some of which limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage. Bookings with carriers or tour operators are also subject to the carrier’s terms and conditions as printed or referred to in their tickets and/or timetables and/or regulations. FTC and/or its agents reserve the right, without notice, to modify, cancel or withdraw any of the arrangements and in this event the full amounts paid will be returned to the customer, and upon rendering the same, all liability of FTC and/or its agents in respect thereof shall cease. FTC and/or its agents reserve the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any group at any time. FTC reserves the right to adjust any price without notice whatsoever at any time up to the day full payment is received by FTC.

A non-refundable deposit of 35% per booking must be paid at the time of booking. Bookings for which this deposit is not received are subject to cancellation without notice. If FTC is unable to confirm the requested arrangements the deposit will be fully refundable. *Please note that for any service held on an option a firm reservation cannot be made until the required deposit is received. Option periods is 5 business days - if a deposit is not received within the option period FTC may be unable to confirm the service. The balance payment must be received not less than 90 days prior to departure. If the balance payment is not received by FTC by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and to apply the appropriate cancellation charges. Payments by credit card are subject to merchant fees.

Should you or any member of your party wish to cancel, you must advise your Travel Agent and/or FTC in writing. Such written advice should be signed by the person who made the original booking. The cancellation is not effective until FTC receives the written advice. Cancellations are subject to a fee as follows:

  • 90 days, or more, prior to date of first service: deposit
  • 89 days, or less, prior to date of first service: 100% of total cost

*Please note that it is your responsibility to request from your Travel Agent or FTC the details of terms and conditions, and to ensure that you have understood their contents. The payment of your deposit constitutes an acceptance of those terms and conditions and your acknowledgement that you will be bound by their cancellation fee charges. No refund is made on any pre-booked services or other travel not utilised. No refund is available for cancellation after the tour has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised. No refund is available for transport and museum passes. Cancellation of confrmed services forming part of an existing booking will incur cancellation fees as listed. FTC does not authorise any overseas supplier to promise refunds on our behalf.

It is strongly recommended that, at the time of booking, you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy of your choice. We suggest that the policy should include, but not be limited to the following features: Loss of deposit through cancellation, personal baggage, loss of money, medical expenses, additional expenses to cover hotel accommodation and repatriation costs to Australia should the tour or holiday need to be extended or curtailed due to illness while overseas, or due to the need to return to Australia because of unexpected death or illness of a close relative. Please consult your Travel Agent on the insurance policy most suitable for your needs.

Passengers should familiarise themselves with any and all health or visa requirements that may be applicable in the areas they intend visiting. They shall be responsible for all exit, entry, health and other documents required by laws, regulations, orders, demands or requirements of the countries visited or transited. Each person shall carry a valid passport at all times. An Australian Re-Entry Permit must be obtained for those not holding Australian passports. Kindly note that passport and visa requirements are not our responsibility or that of your Travel Agent and we are not liable for any loss or expense due to a passenger‘s failure to comply with the above or any statutory requirement made in any country whatsoever.

Luggage, including personal articles, is at all times and in all circumstances at the risk of its owners except to the extent of any insurance purchased by the customer. It is also the passenger’s responsibility to enquire prior to departure about the restrictions placed by any carrier or tour operator on the amount, weight or volume of luggage allowed and to comply with those requirements. Failure to do so might incur additional charges or refusal to carry the excess luggage.

The obligation of FTC to you is to make travel bookings on your behalf and allow you to obtain travel related products from third parties. FTC acts as Booking Agent only for the persons or companies offering or providing the means of travel, conveyance, transport, accommodation or other service and all receipts, tickets, vouchers, coupons or exchange orders are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which transportation and other services are provided. FTC does not accept any liability whatsoever for the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of those Airlines, coach operators, shipping companies, hoteliers or other persons providing services in connection with your tour or travel pursuant to a contract between them and yourselves and over whom we have no direct and exclusive control. We do not accept liability in contract or in tort for any accident, injury, damage, loss, delay, irregularity, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any act or event which are beyond our control, or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, fre, floods, pandemic, unusually severe weather, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accidents to or failure of machinery or equipment or industrial action (whether or not involving our employees and even though such action may be settled by acceding to demands of a labour group). Maps and photographs are only included for the purpose of general information and do not necessarily indicate actual itineraries or location of services provided.

FTC, its agents and any tour operator or provider of services is not liable for any changes, fees or costs not included in the services offered, and any additional costs are the responsibility of the passenger. If you request extra services, please advice 80 days prior tour departure, extra cost may apply if available

We reserve the right to correct any errors in rates quoted or calculated for any service, notwithstanding that the invoice may have been paid in full. It is the responsibility of the Travel Agent to ensure all invoice details are correct and that the client acknowledges all cancellation conditions

All Small Group Escorted Tour programs are group touring programs. The term ‘group tour’ is defined as having a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 16 passengers travelling. The tour is a guaranteed departure.

If the tour cannot proceed due to flood, earthquake, war or civil strike, acts of terrorism, hurricane, cyclone, industrial disturbance, strike, fire, lock out, epidemic, pandemic, failure or delays of scheduled transportation facilities, or other Acts of God, or any law, order, decree, rule or regulation of any government authority, or for any reason whether of a similar or dissimilar nature beyond the control of the supplier, this agreement shall terminate and there shall be no claim for damages by either party against the other.

Please note: Throughout much of central Europe traditional hotels sometimes offer ‘French Twins’ which are 2 separate beds and mattresses attached together and sharing a single headboard.

Single supplements apply. Single rooms in European Hotels are sometime smaller than twin rooms. The Single Supplements represent a fee passed on to us by the Hotels.

In the unlikely instance of a hotel change becoming necessary, the alternative property will be of a comparable and there shall be no refund in this connection. Non-smoking rooms are requested, however they cannot be guaranteed as not all European hotels offer dedicated non-smoking rooms.

Please note requests for special dietary requirements cannot be guaranteed at all European hotels and restaurants.

Unless otherwise indicated we have not included flights, visas, airport taxes, port taxes, security charges, items of a personal nature, laundry, meals, transfers, drinks and consumables.


  • In the unlikely event of a complaint, the client is obliged to make French Travel Connection and the local supplier aware of such problems immediately.
  • French Travel Connection will only consider claims made against it in those circumstances where a complaint has been made pursuant to sub paragraph (a) above and where the claim has been received by within 30 days from the end of the services provided, otherwise, the client will have no right to make any claim against it.
