The Somme region, and particularly Villers-Bretonneux, are drenched with Australian history, and are attracting an ever increasing number of Australians. The battlefields are an eternal reminder to honour, the bravery and sacrifice of the many Australians who found their last resting place there.
Whilst these tours follow a general itinerary with an overview of the main sites, they will vary as each tour is tailored to meet the specific requirements of the participants on the day. Tour inclusions can vary slightly and can be extended to suit individual requirements.

Somme area only, does not include Ypres, Fromelles or Menin Gate.
Own arrangements to Amiens. This tour departs daily from Amiens train station (approximately 1 hour 10 mins from Paris by regional train) at 9:30am. Alternatively there are some good accommodation options available in the town centre.
Visit the areas of Villers-Brettoneux including the Franco-Australian Museum, the Australian Memorial, Adelaide Cemetery, Le Hamel, then on to Pozieres and Albert.
Transfer to Amiens Station at 5:15pm for train back to Paris at 5:39pm or 6:09pm.
Day 1 Own arrangements to Amiens. Overnight at Grand Hotel de l'Univers.
Day 2 Depart hotel 9:30am for full day tour of Somme region (Grand Hotel de l'Univers)
Day 3 Depart hotel 9:30am for full day tour of Somme region. Drop off at Amiens station by 5:15pm for train back to Paris at 5:39pm or 6:09pm.
Visits as per Full Day Tour, plus Red Baron's crash site, where the famous pilot was killed in April 1918. Explore a preserved trench park, visiting some of the only original trenches left in the Somme. The tour also includes visits to Thiepval and Bullecourt on the Hindenburg line.
Day 2 Depart hotel at 9:30am for full day tour of Somme region (Grand Hotel de l'Univers).
Day 3 Depart hotel at 9:30am for full day tour of Ypres (Grand Hotel de l'Univers).
Day 4 Depart hotel at 9:30am for full day tour of Somme region. Drop off at Amiens station by 5:15pm for train back to Paris at 5:39pm or 6:09pm.
Visits on Day 2 and 4 as per 2 Night Somme Tour. On Day 3, travel to Fromelles, visiting VC Corner, Cobbers Memeorial, Pheasant Wood and then cross the border into Belgium. Visits in and around Ypres include Hill 60, Polygon Wood, Passhendaele and Menin Gate. Option to stay for the Menin Gate ceremony.
Day 1 Own arrangements to Amiens. Overnight Grand Hotel de l'Univers.
Day 3 Depart hotel at 9:30am for half day tour of Somme region. In the afternoon transfer to Normandy and overnight in Bayeux at Hotel Bayeux.
Day 4 Depart hotel at 9:30am for full day tour of Normandy region (Hotel Bayeux).
Day 5 Depart hotel at 9:30am for half day tour of Bayeux region and drop-off at Bayeux station by 1pm for train back to Paris.
Day 2 as per the Full Day Tour, morning of Day 3 includes more of the Somme region, followed by the journey to Normandy. In Normandy on Day 4, visits include sites of both beach and airborne landings, all of which took place on 6 June 1944. These visits can include Sainte Mere Eglise, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Omaha Cemetery and Point D'Hoc. On morning of Day 5, explore Bayeux, including Bayeux Tapestry, before arriving at train station.
Day 5 Depart hotel at 9:30am for full day tour of Bayeux region and visit Mont Saint Michel (Hotel Bayeux).
Day 6Depart hotel at 9:30am for half day tour of Bayeux region and drop-off at Bayeux station by 1pm for train back to Paris
As per 4 night Somme & Normandy tour, day 5 also includes Mont Saint Michel visiting the beautiful Abbey that dates back to 708.
