Mont St Michel

Day 1

Pick up in Caen at 10 am. Visit Falaise, one of the most beautiful chateaux in Western France. The chateau stands high above the scenic town of Falaise which it has guarded for over a 1000 years. This is just one of the chateaux of William the Conqueror in the region of Normandy. Visits its dungeons, its ramparts, and also discover the chateau through an audio visual tour. Lunch in Falaise (included). In the afternoon, visit the Bayeux tapestry (entrance fee included). Situated in the medieval town of Bayeux, the museum is one of the most visited tourist sites in France, this beautiful 11th century work of art, which is over 70 metres long, explains the history of William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy in 1066. You also have the opportunity to visit the displays of medieval life, and to watch a film telling the story of the invasion which was to take William and his army to fight on the battlefields of Hastings on the 14th October 1066. Overnight and breakfast in B&B.

 

Day 2

After Breakfast, visit Mont St Michel, which is regarded as the most spectacular  abbey  in the world, set in a bay and only accessible by the causeway. Surrounded by sea, this wonderful monument stands over 550 feet to the tip of its spire. The views from the ramparts are simply breathtaking. You have a chance to  climb the steps through the narrow walkways taking you to the peak where you will have a guided tour of the abbey itself. Lunch (included). Overnight and breakfast in B&B.

 

Day 3

Drop off in Bayeux or at the station around 10 am, or extend your stay in the area.
