Welcome by your driver and transfer to your 4* hotel «Le
Relais de Margaux» next to Bordeaux (35 minutes drive from
Bordeaux city centre and from Bordeaux Airport).

Day 2: Full day tour of Medoc
(B)
Pick up at the hotel, departure for the Médoc, the
most famous of the Bordeaux vineyards which lies to
the North2West of Bordeaux city, a vast spit of land
between the Atlantic Ocean to the West and the
Gironde Estuary to the East, a geographical location
which confers on it a temperate climate suited to
vine2growing. This symbiosis of plant and
environment has given us 60 Grand Crus classés and
400 Crus Bourgeois in the 8 AOC of the Médoc.
Visit and tasting at the Chateau Lascombes, Grand
Cru classé in the Margaux Appellation.

Day 4: The Arcachon basin (B, L)
Departure for the Arcachon basin, a vast lagoon on
the Atlantic coast some 45 minutes west of Bordeaux. On the
way a stop at the Dune de Pyla – highest sand dune in
Europe – to catch the beautiful views over the ocean and the
interior forested in pines. Arrival in Arcachon: stroll
around the town. Short cruise to see the celebrated «tchanquées»,
picturesque oyster2breeders' cabins on stilts. Lunch Chez
Diego l’Ecailler, seafood restaurant on the sea2front.
Towards to Bordeaux, stop at a sturgeon farm : visit and
tasting of caviar.

Day 5: Bordeaux (B, D)
Departure for a
guided visit (2 hours) of Bordeaux to discover the old town:
You will be able to discover the new heart of the City which
has been considerably renovated with cleaned-up monuments,
pedestrian zones and a brand-new tram service. From the
vestiges of the Middle Ages (11th century cathedral of St
Andre, the St Pierre quarter), to the elegance of 18th
century (the 4 km long facade overlooking the river, the
place Royale, the Grand Theatre, Bordeaux's 1781 opera)
You
will discover the different golden ages of Bordeaux's
history, dominated by the wine trade and various colonial
influences. This afternoon you can do some shopping in the
centre.

Margaux Golf course : Pa r 71 18-hole golf course (6048
metres long):
The course lies right in the heart of the famous Margaux
vineyards, close to the most prestigious chateaux of the
Médoc. The fairways are lined with elms and ash trees, with
some following the banks of the Gironde estuary and others
surrounded by lakes and water hazards.
