Lorraine, France
 Lorraine is in north eastern France, bordered by Alsace to the east and Champagne to the west. The countryside in this region is diverse. Deep valleys comprise the central portion of Lorraine, while the Vosges area is renowned for beautiful forests and recreational opportunities. Metz is the regional capital. It is popular for lush flower gardens, and the historic Cathedrale St-Etienne. Nancy is a sophisticated town with many intriguing shops, museums and galleries. The Meuse Valley is home to Verdun, which played a dominant role in the Battle of Verdun in 1916. Several battlefields and memorials can be visited.
