You can purchase stamps at the Post Office and any tobacconist.  Postage prices vary according to the weight of your mail and its destination.

Mail Boxes
The French mail boxes are yellow and can be found along the streets and also in every Post Office. The collection time is displayed on the mail boxes.

For a letter sent locally in France to a destination in France allow 24 to 48 hours.  From France to abroad allow from 1 day up to 5 days.
